Cyclades® OnSite branch office appliances

The Cyclades® OnSite branch office appliance is compact, multi-functional and offers a secure, single point of entry for managing servers and network equipment co-located at remote sites. Devices connected to the Cyclades OnSite appliance can be centrally managed through DSView® 3 management software, thereby minimizing the number of tools needed to manage remote appliances. The compact design helps organize and manage IT space that may be limited at remote offices. It even has a temperature sensor for reading ambient temperature within a rack — important if equipment is stored in a small space.

Since the Cyclades OnSite appliance offers KVM over IP and serial console functionality in one appliance, it can also be deployed with other Avocent management appliances such as DSR® KVM over IP switches, Cyclades ACS advanced console servers, and Avocent SPC420 and PM10i power distribution units. The Cyclades OnSite appliance offers both conventional in-band (network is up) and out-of band (network is down) connectivity. Devices connected to the Cyclades OnSite appliance can be accessed via dial-up modem to reset or otherwise manage:

• when the network is down
• when the network is operational but lacks sufficient bandwidth for management
• when asset maintenance would interfere with network service
