Avocent Signs Computer2000 for Broadline Distribution - New Distribution Partner Provides Route to UK SME Market
Bracknell, UK, 6 October 2003 – Avocent Corporation (NASDAQ: AVCT), the leading global provider of KVM switching and network connectivity appliances today announced a partnership with Computer2000, the UK arm of Tech Data and the largest IT distributor in the UK. The deal is designed to raise Avocent’s profile in the UK SME market, a space in which Avocent is well positioned to compete.
The partnership provides Avocent with a distributor for its low to mid range KVM switch products including the SwitchView and AutoView series. Computer2000 will act as a broadline distributor to service Avocent’s existing resellers in the UK, as well as to introduce Avocent products to the distributor’s loyal reseller base.
Computer2000 has over 10,000 channel customers in the UK and Ireland, and offers a wide range of services to resellers helping them to deliver effective solutions to their end user customers.
