Avocent Named Finalists for Info Security Products Guide Global Awards
Avocent Desktop KVM Switch Recognized for Product Excellence in Secure Government Applications
HUNTSVILLE, AL – October 16, 2007 – Avocent Corporation (Nasdaq: AVCT) announced today that Info Security Products Guide, the world’s leading publication on security-related products and technologies has named the SwitchView® SC4 UAD KVM switch a 2008 Global Product Excellence finalist. The product was entered in the category Excellence in Security Solution for Government.
The SwitchView SC4 UAD KVM switch is a desktop KVM switch, with DVI-I video that allows secure,switching between as many as four computers operating at different classification levels, all from one keyboard, monitor and mouse. This switch and the entire SwitchView SC line of secure switches have been validated by the National Information Assurance Partnership* (NIAP), and are the industry’s first secure KVM switches to be approved by NIAP.
The Info Security Products Guide global awards recognize security and IT vendors with advanced, ground-breaking products and solutions that are helping set the bar higher? for others in all areas of technologies. The SwitchView KVM switch was voted a finalists by more than 11,000 voters from worldwide consisting of end-users, channel partners and readers of Info Security Products Guide. Vendors themselves were not permitted to vote for their products.
